Is GeoGuessr itself free?
GeoGuessr limits free accounts heavily and keeps its full experience behind a subscription, which is why this list exists. Every game here is free to start in the browser; some accept donations or sell extras, but none locked their core mode behind a paywall at our last check.
Which of these are daily puzzles rather than unlimited play?
Worldle, Globle, Travle and WhereTaken publish one shared puzzle per day, Wordle-style. WorldGuessr, Geotastic, City Guesser and OpenGuessr offer unlimited rounds whenever you want them, and TimeGuessr runs a five-photo daily plus an unlimited mode.
Why does OpenGuessr show a weaker verification note?
Its host answers our automated checker with a Cloudflare challenge (HTTP 403), which proves nothing either way about the game. It stays listed on its July 4, 2026 verification, flagged flaky, until a hand replay confirms it — we only claim what we actually observed.
Do these games use Google Street View?
WorldGuessr, Geotastic and OpenGuessr build rounds from street-level panorama imagery; City Guesser uses real walking-tour video instead; TimeGuessr and WhereTaken work from photographs, and Worldle, Globle and Travle test your mental map with no imagery at all.
How is this list verified?
Every entry passes an automated HTTP check that records status code and response time — the 'auto' tier shown per game. Hand replays upgrade entries to 'replayed'. Anything that fails checks or goes 120 days without re-verification is removed from this page automatically.
